hi everybody, it's mike.
As we approach the summer of '04, here are a couple announcements.

The long awaited 4th CD is 96% done, and is soon going to the presses. It will be out during the summer and there will be a Release Party soon, probably at Bar Anticipation. The date hasn't been set, but we'll be sure to let you know. The CD was a long time in the making (too long), and we're very excited about it.
As some of you probably know, a personnel change is in the process of being made. Greg Felise is moving on to other things, but he was cool enough to give us a lot of notice, and he's playing through Memorial Day Weekend. So, if Greg was your "favorite Beatle", you may wanna get out and see him one last time with the band. Check the schedule and try to make a show so we can see him off in the right way.

All of us in the band wish Greg the best, and want to thank him for 7 years of playing with us.

That's all for now. If you have any thoughts or comments or limericks about the band, please write 'em in the guestbook and we'll check 'em out.

Michael Thomas Dalton

I,ve been out to see the band many times. I am very sad to hear that Greg is leaving the band. I can't see how the music will sound the same without him or how the band would be the same. Don't really see how anyone can take his place.

Sincerely,
A concerned fan

I agree. I strongly believe that once a band starts to change the members, the music sounds different. There's a good sound to the band now and i think it's something that shouldn't be messed with. It seems once bands start to change, they don't last too long afterwards. Seen it happened many times.

Just thought I'd put my two cents in!!

The first time i changed a band member was 1987. Considering it's 2004 now, i'm hoping i can survive this change as well.
wish me luck....!
thanks,
mike

Mike is the heart and soul of the band and always has been. Ive known Mike and his band(s) since the days of playing in a neighborhood garage and they have ALWAYS had success aeven after changes were made. I know everyone hates change and they are great the way they are, but they will continue to be great after Greg is gone...

As for "heart and soul" one person doesn't make the band. Give some credit to the other members.

Ya know it's a funny thing. When you spend so many years playing with the same people, the "job", can become stale if your not consistently trying to learn new material and change things up. Trust me. I have been in the business for many years as a professional and for whatever reason Greg is leaving, the Dalton Band will survive and probably grow from the experience as well. Don't be fooled into thinking they are just gonna hire someone who can't measure up to their standards. The band will continue to rock!

The band is stale. Hopefully you'll start to play better music with the new bass player.

It's not the bass player that makes the band stale!!

You guys need to learn some new songs. With or without a new bass player. My friends and I used to come see you guys religously, but not so much anymore. Seems like its been the same show for years, and nothing ever changes. You gotta make it fresh and learn some new material.

Thank God someone else feels the same way. How many Beatle tunes can one person handle. Learn the new stuff than maybe more people will come see you.

You should've realized that it infact was and is a subject with your fans. People are utterly bored when they come see the band. I've heard it from so many people. You need to pay more attention to what the fans want to hear. In time, if you don't there wont be any fans.

don't misunderstand me. i was just referencing the fact that someone was thanking God. in the scope of world, i'm not sure that an opinion about a band is really worth thanking God about.
anyway......
as for our songlist, it is being enhanced as we speak. we're all eager to use this change as a stepping stone to better things and we hope to please the people who come see us. and all we can do is show you.

also, if i'm gonna respond to this in a public forum any further, please use your name. i'd like to know who i'm talking to....

The band is just not the same. We are growing very tired from listening to the same stuff time after time. Plus there are SO many more exciting bands out there to see. Why bother????

Who cares anyway it's just a band. There are better ways to spend your time than worrying what stupid songs they play.

Greg is going to be seriously missed. He was the only one in the band who had a personality. Anytime we went to see the band, Greg always made sure to say Hi. We're glad you have decided to move on.......BEST WISHES GREG......

YOUR FANS

Well, I've known Mike for a long time now. Have any of you ever seen him at a Sold Out Pony Show? Or, taken a bus ride to see him in NY? I know Greg will be missed, new songs will be learned, new places will be played. Remember this, many of cover bands have come and gone in the years that MD has been around. Instead of worrying about the cover tunes he's doing, listen for the originals he's playing. Can't hear them anywhere else!

Have a good summer!

Too lazy to sign up for an account, but watching everyone post anonymously is getting old.

At any rate, mellow out folks. The band's great and has been for YEARS (take a minute & think of all the other local bands who've come and gone - or should have gone). Clearly, they're aware of the need to keep their fans happy. At the same time, it's great that they continue to throw new stuff at us every once in a while - be it cover or original. The only complaint I have is that they don't call to ask me which dates & locations work best for me (selfish, I know). I'd see 'em more often, but we always seem to be headed in different directions. :)

Like TV and radio - if you don't like it, go ahead & change the channel. Just please quiet down a little - I'm trying to listen.

National Transportation Safety Board recently divulged they had funded a project with the US auto makers for the past five years. The NTSB covertly funded a project whereby the auto makers were installing black boxes in four wheel drive pickup trucks in an effort to determine, in fatal accidents, the circumstances in the last 15 seconds before the crash. They were surprised to find in 49 of the 50 states the last words of drivers in 61.2% of fatal crashes were, "Oh, Shit!" Only the state of Texas was different, where 89.3% of the final words were, "Hey Y'all, hold my beer and watch this!"
